The role of private security companies in securing tourist facilities

Abstract

The tourism sector is one of the sectors most affected by the security turmoil, so all tourist establishments must take all necessary measures to counter these unrest through the use of official agencies such as the Ministry of Interior or informal bodies such as security companies and private security; At the level of various sectors, whether industrial or service, and on the above generated the idea of ​​the study to identify the role of those companies in securing tourist facilities. The problem of research is to identify the role that private security companies can contribute to securing tourist facilities. Therefore, the research aims to identify the services of security companies and private security provided to tourist facilities, as well as the problems faced and proposals to improve the level of services. The importance of the study is to draw the attention of those concerned with the tourism industry in Egypt to the role that security and private security companies can contribute in securing tourism facilities as well as the facilities that should be provided by those concerned to these companies. Two questionnaires were designed and directed to the study sample consisting of safe and guard companies, tourism facility managers and tourism and antiquities police officials. The study concluded with a number of recommendations addressed to the concerned authorities, companies and researchers.
