The impact of using the electronic data platform in improving the performance of employees in tourism companies in Egypt

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the use of the electronic data platform (information and communication technology, digital transformation, big data, virtual reality applications, smart phone applications) and its impact on improving the performance of employees in the application on tourism companies in Egypt. The study sample consisted of (384) individuals from The employees of the tourism companies in Cairo Governorate, as it consisted of (362) individual clients, and the study used the descriptive analytical approach, and also used two questionnaire lists to identify the opinions of the study sample, and the results of the study concluded that there was a statistically significant positive effect at the level (0.01) for the dimensions of the electronic data platform (smart phone applications, information and communication technology) to improve the performance of employees of tourism companies in Egypt, and there is a statistically significant positive effect at the level (0.05) of the digital transformation dimension on improving the performance of employees in tourism companies in Egypt, and there is no statistically significant effect of the two dimensions of big data and virtual reality applications on improving the performance of employees in tourism companies in Egypt. The study recommended the need to support senior management in companies tourism to use the electronic data platform, design programs to produce creative ideas that contribute to maximizing the revenues of tourism companies, develop websites for tourism companies through the transition to digitization, and support senior management for research and development in tourism companies.
