Tourism exploitation of the Mediterranean basin: an analytical study of the Egyptian tourist product

Abstract

The Coastal Areas are considered as one of the most important natural sources which could be used in tourism activities. Also they’re considered as one of the most important area of touristic attraction all over the world, which have the first grade of international touristic attraction areas. This appears on coasts of Mediterranean Region which has the first grade of international touristic attraction areas. Also it has alone more than third of the hole the international tourist movement, this results front what the region enjoy with many possibilities and tourist attractions. Despite the great importance of tourism which the Mediterranean basin supplies to many countries of its coast, Egypt still suffering from a great decrease in international touristic Move for its coasts along the Mediterranean, as this region in Egypt depends mainly on internal tourism for most of this region. This picture appears clearly by comparing Egypt with other countries in the same region which could be much similar to Egypt in natural conditions, geographic, political and economic conditions. This happened although Egyptian northern coasts have great constituents of touristic attraction not only very important, but also it is more unique than many other coasts in the same region which attract great numbers of international touristic movement.
