Electronic Marketing of traditional crafts in Egypt

Abstract

       Crafts and traditional industries are one of the most important economic activities that connect between the history and habits on the area where they exist. All along the history Egypt has been famous for heritage arts and their crafts men who achieved wonderful results in many crafts such as patchwork, arabisc, pottery, jewels, and handmade carpets. Thus preserving the Egyptian heritage and crafts is one of the main aims of the study, therefore, the study sheds light on the most important traditional crafts in Egypt and highlights the main obstacles that face such crafts. Aims of the study are achieved through carrying out some interviews with those interested in this field. Also, questionnaires were distributed to a sample of workshop owners and factories in Cairo and Giza to know how they use electronic marketing of crafts, and their suggestions to promote this sector.
The results of the study indicate that using internet helps provide tourism service with high quality through saving time and effort. The study recommends the necessity of training workers and giving them some skills through training courses that qualify them to use such devices.
