Tourism is not only reaching previously isolated parts of the globe but is reshaping social life and identity at home as well. It is now very obvious that tourism associated with globalization changes the Egyptian cultural identity.
This research aims to reveal and explain the existing interactions between globalization process and cultural identity. The question is: Does globalization influence the cultural identity of the Egyptian citizens?
Accordingly the hypothesis of this research is: “Cultural identity is at risk with the negative effects of tourism associated with globalization.”
As theoretical framework, the article dealt with two concepts, “grobalization” and “glocalization.”,
