Abstract

Khepri, the Egyptian solar god of sunrise , personification of dawn, was represent on a lot of ancient Egyptian monuments especially on temples and scenes on the coffins of Amun priests found in the second cache at Dier el Bahari. The Egyptian name Khepri means “rising from, come into being it self, to change”. It is the creation god who represented the rising sun particularly when the sun first rises from the Underworld.
This research aimed to:
-          Study the different forms of Khepri on the coffins of the second cache at Deir el Bahari;
-          The relationship between Khepri and the other gods on these coffins.
