Railways are as one of the most important means used to transport tourists among many countries of the world; they play a vital role in tourism development.
The core problem of this paper is "the unsuitability of railways system in Egypt to transport tourists; hence, a strategy is required for developing the railways' system in Egypt with a view to activate its role in domestic tourism transport.
The overall goal of this paper is to focus on railways in Egypt and in other countries as well as on its role in transporting tourists within Egypt.
Survey questionnaires were distributed to samples of railways experts and travel agencies in Egypt. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS, V.22 Program. The paper ends with the relevant recommendations.
