Abstract

Purpose- The research aims to shed light on the importance, advantages and requirements of the green economy for the tourism sector and to identify the most important green economy indicators for tourist destinations needed for students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Alexandria University in light of climate changes.

Design/methodology/approach -Through the use of the descriptive analytical approach by looking at the literature, research and previous studies related to the research, as well as reaching a proposed program for developing the concepts of green economy among students of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Alexandria University.

Findings –The study found an interest in the transition to the green economy from education as one of the most important means at all to modify values, attitudes, skills, behaviors and lifestyles and to enable students and learners to acquire the necessary skills that contribute to achieving sustainable development and stimulating tourism. The study also confirmed that the transition to the green economy will It contributes to facing climate changes, especially the rise in temperatures in many Egyptian tourist cities, which helps to develop and revitalize tourism in Egypt. At that time, Egypt was a sustainable tourist destination, and she stressed the need to apply clean and modern technology, especially artificial intelligence techniques, in the efficient use of water and energy, leading to the achievement of sustainable development goals within the specified period, to contribute to the revitalization of tourism.
