Abstract

Abstract

This study is conducted with an objective to determine how green transformational leadership influences environmental performance of hotels. It seeks to present a research model in which organizational citizenship for the environment (OCBE) mediates the impacts of green transformational leadership (GTL) on employee green creativity (EGC). A questionnaire, created as a self-reported survey was used to gather information from a sample of 338 hotel employees working in 12 resorts in Marsa Alam City. The findings demonstrate that employees are highly motivated and efficacious due to the perceived green transformational leadership behaviors of their superiors, then they get engaged in performing green behaviors such as the green creativity, which leads to enhanced hotel environmental performance. The findings offers valuable insights regarding how the green leadership can boost the sustainable performance of hotels.
