The Food Novelty and Food Involvement among Foreign Tourists and Its Relationship to the Intention to Eat Local Food in Egyptian Tourist Destinations

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between each Food Novelty and Food Involvement of foreign tourists in the meal experience and their intention to eat local food in Egyptian tourist destinations on other hand. The study was conducted on a group of foreign tourists while they were in Egypt, where it was agreed with 8 Egyptian hotel managers in hotels from the five-star category in Alexandria and Cairo to arrange meetings with 65 foreign tourists. The tourists complete the data of the survey form that was designed specifically for study purposes in the presence of the researcher. Depending on the Pearson correlation coefficient, the study concluded that there is a significant relationship between the various variables that means that the two hypotheses of the study are accepted. The study began researching the local agenda, and the long study to provide information on local foods and their sources found the local agenda the franchise of the Egyptian tourist destination.
