Abstract

Domestic tourism is an important element of the tourism industry in general. In addition to the positive economic components it produces, it contributes effectively to the economic movement. At the same time, it constitutes one of the most important elements of psychological promotion for the domestic tourist and his acquisition of an added culture of his homeland that helps in expanding his relations with Others (Ebadi, 2011). In Egypt, domestic tourism played a prominent role in reviving the Egyptian economy, especially after the 2011 revolution, when the rate of international tourist visits to Egypt decreased. For example, the rate of domestic tourism in Egypt in 2013 reached 15.9 million local tourists (colliers international, 2015).
Egypt was exposed to many different problems due to the political and security turmoil after the January 2011 revolution, which had a negative impact on the international tourism movement coming to Egypt in general, which led to many hotels and tourism companies focusing on domestic tourism as a major way out to compensate for the low rates of hotel occupancy in these tourist cities
Therefore, this research aims to know the impact of domestic tourism on the infrastructure of hotels.
