Studying the Factors Affecting the Promotion of Museum Visits Applied to Egypt

Abstract

Cultural attractions are distinguished attractions of tourism because of their relationship to the history and civilization of tourist countries. Museums are considered one of the most prominent cultural attractions.
There are many various objectives of establishing museums and there are also many types of museums that have become over time prominent tourist destinations. museums face many contemporary challenges, the most important of them is the decline in the number of visitors. Therefore, tourist countries always seek to study the reasons for this problem.
The theoretical framework of the study focused on the importance of museums in the tourism industry, and the methods affecting the visiting decision-making of museums visitors. The Field study focused on distributing a survey to a sample of 318 visitors in four museums in Cairo: The Egyptian Museum, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the Museum of Islamic Art, and the Coptic Museum to identify the visitor’s views about the quality of the services provided by those museums and the most influential marketing methods they use. A set of results was concluded, the most important of them is that there are many problems facing the museum’s visitors, and some recommendations are presented to be considered by the official tourist bodies and museums sector.
