Abstract

Tourism is an interactive relationship among tourists local businesses host governments and communities and also indeed a long-established relationship exists between increases in crime and tourism; major economic crimes e.g. robbery burglary in some highly popular tourism venues have a ’similar season to tourism' for several reasons. Crimes against tourists can impede tourism by significantly damaging a location’s image. Therefore the most important prerequisite for a successful tourist industry is areputation for having crime under control and guaranteeing tourists' safety. Furthermore media coverage of crimes against tourists often tends to be out of proportion to the actual risk having a profound effect on public perception of safety at particular locations. The importance of this study lies in discussing money crimes, which is considered one of the most imortant problems that faces all tourists in different tourist destinations specially in the Egyptian tourist destination because of its great dangerous effects on the economics of tourist destinations particulary its negative effect related to the negative image of the tourist destination. The aims of this study are several aims such as highlighting the efforts of tourism police in fighting the money crimes introducing full description of the money crimes in tourism industry and studying how to increase the awareness of overcoming the several forms of money crimes. This study depends on two methods of collecting data: the theoretical study which depends on Arabic and English books, books, studies, periodicals reports and official web sites. In addition to the field Study which depends on analysing the responses of two questionnaires: the first one distributed to a sample of Arab and foreign tourists and the second one distributed to a sample of employees working in the general administration of tourism police. The general conclusions of this study are; there is a relationship between the increasing of money crimes in any tourist destination and the decreasing of tourist flow to that destination and the best way to overcome that problem by enhancing the role of tourism police and the increasing the social awareness of the great negative impacts related to that problem
