Social responsibility towards the nation has a significant impact, aims to benefit the local community, promoting sustainable development and raising awareness with the benefits of preserving national and cultural heritage. Although South Sinai society has been distinguished as a genuine Egyptian society with a long cultural heritage, it hasn't been perceived at the importance of the responsibility of preserving social and cultural heritage and its impact on sustainable tourism. The purpose of the research is to highlight the importance of raising awareness of affiliation to preserve Egyptian identity to achieve sustainable development in St. Catherine. The study relied on distributing of 300 surveys to a random sample of the local community and heritage sites. A total of 264 valid forms were compiled. The results shows that there is a statistically significant relationship between social responsibility and Egyptian identity from the point of view of the local community and the heritage sites in St. Catherine. There is also a relationship between the responsibility of the local community in consolidating the concept of identity and achieving tourism sustainability. The study recommended the importance of developing awareness among the local community about the importance of identity and preserving cultural heritage through developing a strategic plan with the official bodies (culture, tourism, antiquities, and civil society organizations) to involve the local community in decisions related to protecting identity, customs, and history in St. Catherine and enhancing cooperation between Local community institutions to serve local heritage and tourism in the region.
