Impartiality as an Ethical Behavior in Ancient Egypt: A Textual Investigation
Rania
Merzeban
The occasional recurrence of formulae concerning assertion of equality among people is tempting to explore. In shaping the image of the good character, fairness was regarded as a rule establishing connections among human beings in the ancient Egyptian civilization. The research is a study of a personal attitude that strengthens our understanding of the concepts of impartiality in ancient Egypt. The texts identify the principles governing proper conduct, outlining an important self-portrait and identifying a key structural issue in relationships. Several textual sources include warnings to commit morally denied social acts; among which partiality is mentioned. The study is an attempt to contextualizing impartiality, considered as the correct conventional character in the culture of the ancient Egyptian society. Based on the lexicographical and textual study, the analysis brings forth examining contexts in which people conceived favouring someone’s side as unjust and partial. Concerning the topic of impartiality, the ancient Egyptian language was expressive. All the terms are complementary in emphasizing morality and rendering fair judgements. The texts confirm the importance of not favouring one of two persons by supporting one instead of the other. Expressions denoting impartiality made their appearance starting from the Old Kingdom.

Mail has a long and vivid history. As postal services evolved in the nineteenth century, numerous bilateral treaties were enacted to regulate postal procedures. However, as the great number of these bilateral treaties complicated such affairs, a succession of international conferences to discuss postal problems were held, first in Paris and then other cities. Egypt had been represented at all postal conferences, and it was decided that it would host the Tenth Postal Conference in 1934, which was also the year that the Postal Museum opened in Cairo. This article discusses the details of the Tenth Conference for the first time. It further discusses the representation of Egypt in the postal conferences before this event. The article relies primarily on a set of original documents kept in the archives of the National Archives in Cairo that will soon be published for the first time. It is evident that Egypt has made notable contributions to all postal conferences. In addition, it managed and organized the conference that it was mandated to host in its territories in a professional manner.

This research aims to understand the phenomena of Digital Detox Tourism (DDT); explore technology usage amongst the digital natives and digital immigrants; delve into tourists’ awareness of the impacts of ICT’s excessive usage; investigate tourists’ attitudes towards DDT, and identify motivators to be disconnected during their trips. An online structured questionnaire was applied, a total of valid 348 responses are analyzed. The results show the digital natives’ addiction to technology, almost all of them spent more than four hours daily. The findings indicate that respondents have a good awareness of the impacts of technology overuse. Further, the study points to the advantages of being disconnected at the tourism destination. The findings identify four motivators that encourage tourists to participate in DDT; escapism, relaxation, health and wellbeing, and relationship. The study can help destination policy-makers to better provide the supply and activities that refresh tourists’ minds and achieve well-being; promote DDT as a travel choice to improve tourists' mindful experience and enhance their engagement with the surrounding environment.

The Post-COVID-19 new normal tourism: Concerns and criteria
Galal
Afifi
COVID-19 is undoubtedly an unprecedented crisis that hit tourism heavily, which resulted in enormous losses on different fronts. To date, tourism stakeholders are uncertain about the duration required for tourism to recover fully. The present calls for a quick resumption of tourism to save the massive investments and the millions of jobs currently at risk are challenged by numerous fears and concerns. However, unlike the uncertainty regarding the recovery duration, there is a noteworthy agreement that pre and post-COVID-19 tourism will be significantly different, as both tourist products and tourists' characteristics will witness evident changes either temporarily or permanently. In this regard, this research aims to investigate the concerns of post-COVID-19 tourism as well as to identify the features of what is now well-known as "the new normal tourism". The research resulted in identifying some of the potential features of "the new normal tourism", such as the length of travel and the potential tourists’ characteristics.

This study aimed to explore the impact of organizational resilience (OR) on human resources management practices (HRMP) in the resort hotels context. Structured interviews were conducted with fourteen managers, and a pre-tested self-administrated questionnaire was used to collect the required data for this study. The questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of 300 employees working in 11 five-star hotels in the Red Sea region. The findings showed that organizational resilience has a significant relationship to HRMP. Additionally, the results revealed that hotel managers should identify and emphasize the critical role of high-performance HRMP in supporting OR strategies. The organizational resilience dimensions such as organizational culture, learning and knowledge, leadership, situation awareness, and risk management will formulate and lead the effective human resources practices. The study indicated the hotel’s ability to be resilient based on the advanced planning and development of the human resources practices. The findings suggest the hotel staff is more likely to feel secure with their jobs and are provided with training and development opportunities in resilient organizational culture. They will probably reciprocate through positive organizational behaviors, supporting organizational goals such as organizational resilience strategies. Consequently, hotels should consider these OR constructs' significant impact on the HRMP to comprehend better the practices that support creating a resilience culture in an organization.

The main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between the dimensions of organizational politics and turnover intentions in hotels and travel agencies in Egypt. The benefit of examining organization politics and perception of politics derives from their bad impact on employees performance and organizational outcomes. For this purpose, a model of organizational politics and its three antecedents was developed. The study is based on a quantitative methodology where data were collected from 20 five-star hotels and 20 travel agencies located in the Greater Cairo region in Egypt. A total of 250 surveys were valid for the final data analysis. Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) software program was used to test the theoretical model. It can be concluded that there was a significant positive relationship between organizational politics and turnover intentions. The findings also revealed that there was a significant positive relationship between general political behavior and turnover intentions. On the other hand, there was no significant relationship between pay and promotion, and turnover intentions. The results of this study may assist management to create good communication between managers and their workers which may reduce politics and intent to leave.

Reviving the Trail of the Holy Family to Egypt: Applied for the Tourism and Hospitality Sector
Mohamed
Abed
Fatma
Abouzied
More than 2,000 years ago, Mary and Najjar fled with Jesus to Egypt in order to escape the wrath of King Herod. This was a defining moment in the history of the Coptic Christians, for Egypt became a second Holy Land when their own land was blessed by the presence of the Holy Family. At present, many Egyptian historians and archeologists are calling for a project to track each town or city visited by the holy family. In anticipation of pilgrims, Egypt is working to restore several holy sites. Vatican Pope visited Egypt in April 2017. The designation of Egypt as a pilgrimage site was endorsed by Vatican Pope in October during his general audience, where he recognizes Egypt as an Official Pilgrim site. This program is forecasted to attract a large number of tourists from all around the world. This study aims at reviveing the historical places of the journey of the holy family in Egypt by determining the main barriers that may face travellers during their visit and the possibility of developing the services offered and increase the number of hospitality properties. Design/methodology/approach–the data were collected via a semi structured questionnaire addressed to experts in tourism and hospitality fields and a questionnaire addressed to a sample of visitors of these holly sites. Research limitations/implications– The research focused on tourism and hospitality services available around the five sites that have been recognized and approved by UNESCO.

Transforming Hotel Supply Chain Using Intelligent Decision Support System: Prospects and Challenges
Mahmoud
Abou Kamar
Modern technological innovations are driving the trends to digitalize the hotel supply chains. The most famous and used technologies are artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, and advanced predictive analytics. These technologies provide the tools that will inevitably redesign and transform many aspects of the hotel supply chains. Thus, this study aims to investigate the opportunities and chart the path to adopt the Intelligent Decision Support System (IDSS) in hotel supply chain management. IDSS is a computerized information system that facilitates the decision-making process by creating alternatives, which can then be evaluated using a set of predetermined patterns to make reliable and fact-based decisions. To that end, this study engaged in 12 Delphi survey with hotel managers and key industry experts in Egypt and received additional inputs from 70 structured surveys conducted amongst four and five-star hotels located in Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Hurghada which allow a deeper insight into the prospective scenarios of how IDSS could be applied in hotel supply chain management. The results unveiled that the hotel supply chains in Egypt are moving towards digital transformation, albeit with slow steps. Also, the results revealed that data quality, analytical decision-making capabilities, and transformational impacts appear to be critical factors that influence the adoption of IDSS. A key finding of this study is that Egyptian hotels cannot reap the integration advantage of IDSS technology without additional engagement with supply chain partners.

Maher
Hossny
Recently, hotels have given significant attention to the millennials' generation, as they have become a niche market in the digital market era, and brought unique perspectives and values. Millennials have been raised as a new marketing goal for many hotel companies. Hotel Marketers consider Millennials' satisfaction and revisit intention as the most important strategies toward attracting them, to increase higher profit gain. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is two-fold. First, the study examines the hierarchical influence of the multiple dimensions of values perceived on the aspect of Millennials' satisfaction and revisits intention in the hospitality industry. Second, the study attempts to re-arrange the power of value perceived toward the digital generation from a hotel marketing perceptive. The study used a survey that has been conducted through a well self-administrated questionnaire. The population of the study included all the millennial hotel guests in Alexandria, the North coast, and Hurghada, Egypt. Data were analyzed using Linear Regression, mean and standard deviation. The study results reveal that the dimensions of perceived value are strong positive predictors for Millennials' satisfaction and revisit intention and significantly play an important positive impact on Millennials satisfaction. Finally, the study suggests that focusing on millennials’ value perception strategy can help to raise competitive advantage.
