The Implications of the Global Financial Crisis on the Tourism Industry in Egypt. This study aims at identifying the implications of the global financial crisis on the'Tourisrn sector in Egypt. The study also revealed the negative implications of the financial crisis on the tourism and aviation sector in Egypt, as well as on the foreign investments allocated .to the tourism sector in the destination. Additionally, the negative impact of the global financial crisis has extended to the employment sector in Egypt, particularly the tourism and hotel sector, as well as the services associated with it. The study finally suggests some recommendations that could help the tourism sector in Egypt in lessening the negative impacts of the financial crises. Among these recommendations is; the Ministry of Finance should cooperate with the tourism sector during the financial crisis in terms of offering a partial or total deduction of the sales tax on all the tourism services in the destination. Also the principal tour operating companies in Egypt should merge in order to reduce the cost of its services through the economies of scale, especially after the losses that affected its key operations due to the financial crisis. Similarly, the Egyptian national carrier should merge, with other similar Arab and African aviation companies so as to reduce its operational costs, particularly offering tax exemptions on the fuel in order to reduce the price of its tickets during the financial crisis. Finally, the tourism and hotel sector in Egypt should implement a social programme that aims at encouraging all the tourism establishments to prevent redundancies as an immediate response to the financial losses incurred as a result of the global financial crisis. Instead, it should positively exploit these circumstances through conducting extensive human resources training programmes in order to improve its performance which will reflect on the quality of its services, hence be capable of sustaining the negative implications of the financial crisis.

Al-Mahmal is a pilgrimage mission, Moslems waited its parade, anxiously, which carried the Coverage of Kaaba to celebrate it, seeing off Al-Mahmal with great feelings and tears wishing to be among the pilgrims who visit the Holy places , then they waited for months the return of Al-Mahmal with the old kiswa ,which was cut into piece's to be distributed among the ancient mosques and some rich people. The Mahmal was a wooden frame which carried curtain and kiswa" caverage" of the Holy Kaaba, covered with brocaded silk. It took cubical shape of Kaaba in it's lower half, while the upper part took a pyramid or tent shape according to the historical period in which it was made or the country from which it came. Many camels took part at Al-Mahmal convoy, but one camel was devoted to carry the coverage of Kaaba. The departure of Al-Mahmal to the Holy lands and it's return was accompanied by celebrations, in which the princess, elite, scientists and the common people participate. The Egyptian pilgrimage mission was the biggest Arabic and Islamic one along the history due to it's preparation and celebration . it was characterized by on accurate system in it's formation and paths, as every one knew his limits ,duties and his task in the parade from the beginning to the end, and the mission grouped a great number of jobs reached 42 ones. So, it is clear that the Egyptian mission " Mahmal " has an accurate system in it's formation and design, It looked like a military army in its accuracy and it's hard regulations because it's a symbol of the sultan's dignity , greatness beside being an extraordinary ambassador, that represents Egypt in Mekka in pilgrimage time as the Moslems gathered from all over the world. The Mahmal parade left an impressive effects on the economic, social and cultural life in Egypt.

This study aims at evaluating the degree of effectiveness of the methods usedto measure the quality of services in five star hotels in Egypt. It also aims at developing a cluster of integrated questions that measure the quality of services and links its results with financial performance results in these hotels.
The reviewed literature revealed that hospitality properties use a lot of methodsthat measure the quality of services without ccorrelating the outputs of these methods to the financial performance results. This might affect the credibility and validity of the quality of services outputs and the financial performance results.
Primary data were collected using a structured interview conducted with managers of food and beverage departments and rooms divisions departments in a selected sample of five star hotels in Cairo. The sample represented eight five star hotels.
The analysis of the managers’ answers indicated that most of five star hotels rely on a set of financial indictors for measuring their financial performance; they also depend on a cluster of methods for measuring the quality of services (in food and beverage department and rooms division). In spite of the efficiency of the used instruments for measuring performance, they can not be considered effective in linking and correlating the quality of services results with the financial ones. This is due to the fact that such a process in most hotels depends on subjective measures.
Based on the result of the field study, a cluster of integrated questions was suggested to link the results of quality of services to the financial results for five stars hotels, in order to have best benefits from the both results.

This study aims at evaluating the development scheme undertaken by the Egyptian Development Authority to stimulate demand on the Taba/ Nuweiba region (known as the Egyptian Riviera Project), for many aspects of tourism; chief among them is the recreational product. For this purpose, the researcher conducted in-depth semi-structured interviews with some responsible from the Egyptian Development Authority, as well as the Egyptian Promotion Authority. These responsible provided the researcher with key problems that were found to be deterrent for the process of developing the region and at the same time hindering the possibilities of promoting it to its targeted customers. Among the major obstacles facing the development process was the linear development in this area which limits the opportunities of creating outdoor recreational facilities. This in turn affects the site in terms of creating a competitive advantage so as to be able to compete with its major neighbouring developed tourist cities like Sharm El-Sheikh. On the other hand, political instability in this area as it lies close to the Egyptian/Israeli borders; the over reliance on inbound tourism from Israel, as well as the low pricing policy were key problems that hamper the promotion of this region. As a result of these shortcomings, the researcher suggests some key steps for the implementation of a comprehensive marketing strategy that could enhance the promotion and thus the projection of Taba/Nuweiba region on the tourist map of Egypt.

Tourism has changed from being just a human phenomenon to a social right and a necessity of life aiming at culture, enjoyment and relaxation. The political and social development and the ease of communication resulted in the promotion of the tourism flow to be an industry or a group of integrated industries, as well as, an impetus for the economic development and a necessary base of the national revenue of many developed and developing countries. In addition, tourism is a means of intellectual communication and exchange of cultures, norms and traditions among people. Therefore, the countries are concerned with directing their efforts towards enhancing the tourism culture among the members of their society in order to improve the tourism field together with the other fields. This can be done through developing their awareness of tourism as an important economic, social and cultural industry for the country. Therefore, the researcher believes that it is important to evaluate the level of tourism culture of Alexandria University students through developing a test for that and then providing an effective program incorporating the dimensions of tourism culture in order to improve that level .
